Search Wilson County Court Docket

A Wilson County court docket search starts with the court and record type. Texas trial records are not held in one universal system. District, county, justice, and municipal clerks each control distinct files, while statewide and federal tools add separate search layers. Search the Wilson County court docket through the official calendar, weekly appearance lists, clerk request routes, or the portal suited to the case. A docket can confirm a hearing or filing, but the originating clerk supplies the full record and any certified copy.

How to Search the Wilson County Court Docket

Start with whatever paper you already hold. A citation, pleading, or notice helps here. It usually carries the cause number. It also names the court handling the case. Felony, family, and district civil matters live with the Wilson County District Clerk. The Wilson County Clerk keeps county civil and probate files. The misdemeanor material flows through requests. Municipal and Justice of the Peace citations stay with the court that issued them.

  1. Identify the court level and case category.
  2. Gather the cause, case, docket, or citation number.
  3. Check the official weekly docket, calendar, or local search portal.
  4. Try re:SearchTX for an eligible statewide electronic record.
  5. Call, mail, email, or visit the custodian when the record is absent.
  6. Ask that clerk for a plain or certified case document.

No single Texas search covers every trial court. So a blank portal result does not mean a Wilson County court docket is missing.

Wilson WILS Weekly Docket Files

The 81st and 218th courts post weekly PDF dockets. The dockets cover Atascosa, Frio, Karnes, La Salle, and Wilson Counties. Look for the code WILS. It pulls out the Wilson entries. Separate links often cover criminal, civil, additions, and Zoom settings. Think of the page as a publication index rather than a name-search database.

Each weekly file may show an appearance date and time. It may also list case style, attorney, case type, or a setting note. That is useful, but it is not everything. The docket does not supply all pleadings. It also omits a full register of actions, a financial ledger, and a verified disposition. Check the base file and any addition posted for the same week. For filed documents and certified docket records, the District Clerk is still the source.

What a Court Docket Shows

A Wilson County court docket is a working schedule, and its fields vary by court. District civil and criminal appearance files carry enough detail to identify a matter and its setting. They are not complete case files.

Cause or docket numberThe clerk's local case identifier.
Case styleAn abbreviated caption naming the matter.
Date and timeThe published setting, subject to revision.
Case typeA civil, family, criminal, or other docket category.
Setting commentA motion, reset, plea, trial, or Zoom note.
Attorney fieldsCounsel or pro-se information shown on the appearance list.

An entry reflects what the court published at one moment. Unless the official record states a result, the entry does not prove one.

Wilson County Courthouse Record Hub

Floresville is the county seat. Most Wilson County government records start there. Need a phone number? Call 830-393-7300 for the courthouse at 1420 3rd Street, Floresville, TX 78114. The Wilson County contact directory lists those details along with every county office. County Clerk and County Court offices sit inside that courthouse. The District Clerk and the district-court location sit a few blocks away at 1105 Railroad Street. A docket search may send you to either building. Which one depends on your case.

The official county directory depicts the courthouse contact hub.

County and district offices sit at different addresses and keep different records. When the case type is unclear, a call to the main directory sorts out where the docket lives.

Which Courts Keep Dockets

Wilson County dockets sit inside a layered Texas court system. The court level decides the clerk, the portal, and what record you can get. So rely on the charge, pleading, or citation, not a party's address.

Wilson County Docket Codes

The joint district calendar packs counties, case types, and judges into short codes. WILS flags Wilson County. You will see CV for civil and CR for criminal most often. The official calendar also uses JT, NJ, GJ, ARR, JDC, and DWOP. Judge codes D, W, and VJ appear too.

ARR
Arraignment, a formal criminal setting.
GJ
Grand-jury activity on the calendar.
JT
Jury trial or jury docket activity.
NJ
Non-jury setting.
DWOP
Dismissal docket for want of prosecution.
Reset
A setting moved to another date, not a dismissal.

For current interpretation, the official joint calendar controls. Calendar notes can change; when you see "NO MORE SETTINGS," contact staff before assuming a date is open.

Finding Court Dates and Settings

Two public starting points exist for district settings: the calendar and the weekly appearance PDFs. Read them together. The calendar holds the multi-county schedule. The weekly file names the Wilson matters set for a given date. Published dates and times can still change.

For a district setting, check the HTML calendar, open the matching WILS docket, inspect additions, then confirm with the District Clerk or the joint court coordinator. The joint court lists 830-769-3750 and coordinator@81-218.txcourts.gov. County civil, probate, and guardianship settings work differently. Submitting a form does not confirm a request. The County Court coordinator sends the confirmation. For municipal and JP dates, confirm with the court named on the citation.

Note: a future setting may be reset, canceled, or moved after a PDF is downloaded.

Wilson County Setting Confirmation

The Wilson County Court page embeds a detailed setting request form. It covers civil, probate, and guardianship matters. It asks for the cause number and abbreviated style. Client, case category, matter, contested and Zoom choices, time needed, requested date, and time preference are also requested. Submission alone does not put the matter on a confirmed docket.

The official page shows the coordinator and the request workflow.

The coordinator's confirmation email is the step that counts. The requesting party must also give notice. Contested matters, jury trials, Zoom settings, civil JP appeals, guardianship hearings, and hearings needing a court reporter follow the local routing described on that page.

Public Access to Dockets

Texas leans toward public access for court records, yet judiciary access is not the same as a Texas Public Information Act request aimed at an executive agency. The governing rule turns on whether the item is a case record, a judicial record, or another government record. Sealed, juvenile, expunged, mental-health, competency, and sensitive personal information may all be restricted.

Texas access framework:

Rule of Judicial Administration 12 provides a written route for defined judicial records.

Government Code Chapter 552 directs judiciary access to Supreme Court rules and other law.

Rule of Civil Procedure 76a favors public court records while requiring a process for sealing.

Family Code Chapter 58 protects juvenile justice information.

Use the custodian's procedure. A known cause number does not override a seal or confidentiality rule.

Wilson County re:SearchTX Layer

re:SearchTX is the statewide layer for Wilson County court records. It can search eligible cases, filings, hearing text, and documents. What you can see depends on the record type and which courts participate. Your account and user role matter too. Criminal records face extra limits. Expect a possible document viewing charge, and treat any result as unofficial rather than a certified local copy.

Use it as a second step. A Wilson County matter may be criminal, sealed, newly filed, or missing from the statewide docket search. In those cases, go straight to the local court and clerk instead. Filing works separately from public access: attorneys and filers submit documents through eFileTexas. Per the County Clerk, civil and probate e-filing became mandatory in 2016. The District Clerk puts criminal document e-filing's mandatory date at 2018.

The Clerk and Docket Records

Wilson County splits its court records between two clerks. Genevieve Martinez serves as County Clerk. Deborah Bryan serves as District Clerk. The County Clerk's misdemeanor search covers Class A and B misdemeanors in Wilson County, plus Class C appeals moved up from municipal or JP courts on request. It reaches no federal, statewide, or other-county records. The District Clerk, meanwhile, keeps the filed district records behind the WILS appearance lists. The County Clerk's own page also displays records, fees, forms, hours, and contact details.

Wilson County Copies and Fees

Fees for the County Clerk's misdemeanor search are straightforward. A $5-per-name search fee applies when no case number is supplied. Plain copies run $1 per page. A certified copy adds $5 for certification on top of the $1 per page. Card payments carry a 2.19% service fee with a $2 minimum. Check the current fee schedule for other record categories before you send money.

Mail for the County Clerk goes by USPS to P.O. Box 27, Floresville, TX 78114. The physical address takes no USPS mail. The District Clerk posts no fee list on its official page, so call 830-393-7322 before promising anyone a cost.

Wilson County Docket Access Channels

No single channel answers every Wilson County docket question. Online, you can reach the joint weekly PDFs. The district calendar, re:SearchTX, the Floresville citation portal, and court-specific payment pages are there too. The right clerk counter serves in-person visitors. Phone calls matter most for Poth, Stockdale, uncertain precinct cases, fees, and revised dates. Mail suits a focused copy request sent to the proper address. Email works for JP4 and the joint district coordinator where appropriate.

Put the essentials in any written request. List the court, county or city, case or citation number, style, date range, record category, exact item, copy type, delivery method, and your contact information. Wilson County does not document public terminals as a universal service, so call before traveling if you need one. Federal civil and criminal records live in PACER and the Western District San Antonio Division. Bankruptcy goes through its own San Antonio federal office.

Wilson County Lower Court Fallbacks

Four Justice of the Peace offices give direct routes. They help when a county citation or small civil matter hides from a broad docket search. JP1 sits at 800 10th Street in Floresville, phone 830-393-5112. JP2 is at 121 Dilworth Plaza in Poth, phone 830-484-2356. JP3 occupies 402 Bluebonnet, also described as FM 775, in La Vernia. It answers at 830-779-2285. JP4 shares the 800 10th Street Floresville address at Box 6, phone 830-393-4052. Its published email is jp4@wilsoncountytx.gov.

Each precinct page mixes payment instructions, self-help links, office hours, and case information. JP1 describes small and debt claims involving property valued at $20,000 or less. It also posts local filing and service figures. That detail belongs to that page alone, not to every Wilson County court docket. A ticket may name a precinct. Use that precinct even if a nearby city runs its own municipal court.

Wilson County Federal Docket Boundary

A federal filing tied to Wilson County will never surface in the county clerk offices. Local parties or events do not change that. Wilson County sits inside the San Antonio Division of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. Federal civil and criminal docket searches run through PACER and CM/ECF. The official federal lookup places the San Antonio courthouse at 262 W Nueva Street, San Antonio, TX 78207, phone 210-472-6550. PACER may require an account, and document charges can apply.

Bankruptcy stands separate again. The Western District of Texas Bankruptcy Court's San Antonio Division covers Wilson County. Its address is 615 E Houston Street, Room 597, San Antonio, TX 78205, phone 210-472-6720. Federal dockets can also hold sealed material no ordinary account can reach. If the caption or notice names a United States District Court or Bankruptcy Court, start with the federal court. Do not try to translate its number into a Wilson County state cause number.

Court Dockets by City in Wilson County

Wilson County's five profiled incorporated cities share no single municipal court search. Floresville runs the strongest online citation portal. La Vernia leans on a monthly court day and a clerk-first process. Nixon links a vendor payment route whose search fields are unverified. Poth and Stockdale depend on direct municipal contact. Each city page keeps that local workflow apart from county district and JP dockets.

Map and Directions to the Wilson County District Clerk's Office

District civil, family, and felony records for the 81st and 218th Judicial District Courts are kept at the Wilson County District Clerk's office, 1105 Railroad Street, in Floresville. This is a separate building from the county courthouse at 1420 3rd Street, where the County Clerk and County Court are located, so a district case requires driving to the Railroad Street address rather than the courthouse square.
